Writing Guide

The ENERGY Journal is published every May and November. The objectives of the journal publication are to:

  1. Disseminate knowledge, research, and innovations related to new findings from scientists and practitioners in the field of engineering sciences.
  2. Encourage scientists and practitioners to conduct research and development, as well as to publish their work in the field of engineering sciences.

Based on these objectives, the editorial board of the Energy Engineering Journal provides opportunities for contributors to submit manuscripts of their research or scientific studies in engineering fields. The publication guidelines for the Energy Journal are as follows:

Manuscript Formatting (Template) Articles should be written on A4-sized paper, in two columns, using Times New Roman font size 10, with single spacing, and should not exceed 15 pages. The margins should be set as follows (in order): top/bottom/left/right — 4 / 4 / 3 / 3 cm. Each paragraph should begin with a first-line indent of 0.6 cm, without double spacing between paragraphs. Manuscripts must be submitted in soft copy format via the link provided by the editorial board.

Language: The manuscript may be written in either English.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript consists of: Title, Author name(s), affiliation(s), and email address, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Research Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

The title should contain 6 to 12 words. The word "Abstract" as the section title should be written in Times New Roman, 10-point, bold, left-aligned, with the first letter capitalized. The abstract text should be written in Times New Roman, 10-point font, single-spaced, with a maximum of approximately 250 words. The abstract and keywords should be written in English.

The conclusion should be a single paragraph that expresses the generalization of all research findings. It should contain facts obtained from the study and should adequately address the research problem or objectives (not another discussion). Indicate the possible applications, implications, or appropriate speculations. If necessary, provide suggestions for future research. State the conclusion in measurable terms and in the form of a paragraph, not in numbered or itemized lists.

References cited in the manuscript should be managed using reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero. All references listed in the bibliography must be cited in the manuscript. A minimum of 10 primary and recent references (from the last 5 years) is required. References should be written in 10-point font using the IEEE citation format, and each reference should include a DOI link (reference linking). Reference numbers in the manuscript should be inline with the text.

Table Formatting

Tables must be numbered according to their order of presentation (e.g., Table 1, and so on). The table title should be written above the table, justified, with no bold or colored text. The font used for both the table title and the table content should be 8-point. Each table must be referred to and cited in the manuscript. Tables should be single-spaced, and no vertical lines should be used.

Figure Formatting

Figures must be clear and of high resolution. Figure captions should be numbered in order of presentation (e.g., Figure 1, etc.). The figure title is placed below the figure, center justified, and written in 8-point font. Figures must be referred to and cited in the manuscript. Figures must be easily readable.

Mathematical Equations

Each mathematical equation must be numbered consecutively, starting from number (1). Equation numbers should be enclosed in parentheses and placed aligned to the right of the equation.

Manuscript Editing

To determine which manuscripts are eligible for publication, the editorial team is assisted by reviewers who possess relevant academic competence and experience in the subject matter of the manuscript. The results of the review or the reviewers’ comments will be conveyed to the authors for manuscript revision.
