PENGGUNAAN METODE CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA PADA MAPEL IPS KELAS VII SMPN 1 SUKAPURA
Abstract
Based on the data on social studies learning outcomes for grade VII students, it shows that student achievement in social studies subjects is still low. The causes of low student achievement can be identified, among others, because the learning is still monotonous so that they only memorize but do not understand / understand the learning material. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method is a method designed to actively learn to find out what is learned for themselves. In general, this research aims 1). To improve student learning achievement on the quality of the social studies learning process and learning outcomes for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Sukapura, Sukapura District through the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) methods. This study used a classroom action research design consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and is carried out through the stages of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research subjects used class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sukapura, Sukapura District, totaling 25 students. The research was carried out from January to April 2019. The results showed that the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method in social studies subjects for class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sukapura, Sukapura District, could improve student achievement which was observed in the quality of the process and student learning outcomes. According to students, the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) method is fun and not boring.
