MINES RESISTANCE MEASURES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF SUPPORTING MARITIME DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Indonesia's maritime has a important meaning for national development, with an area configuration of two-thirds of the ocean area and one-third of the land. So that the sea with all aspects of its life plays an important role in national development. The concept of Indonesia as a world maritime axis supported by 5 main policy pillars in the form of territorial integrity of jurisdiction; maintain defense and security; ensure safety; responsible management of resources; and projecting national interests by implementing Good Governance in every aspect and related institution in the development of the maritime sector in Indonesia, in the face of national security. Therefore, researchers look at the correlation of maritime development in supporting the world's maritime axis with the historical background and geographical conditions of the Indonesian nation, how most of Indonesia's territorial waters are still a defense area in the form of minefield areas in waters with potential mine hazards ex World War II . The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of security and safety guarantees for the development of maritime development from the dangers of sea mines ex World War II and the implementation of mine countermeasures carried out in support of maritime development in Indonesia.
